The tragic news of Lisa Marie Presley passing away at the age of only 54.

Two days prior to Lisa Marie Presley's death she attended the 80th Golden Globe Awards in support of the best and latest biopic of her late father and one of America's best performers Elvis Presley, she looked unsteady and beyond her years of only 54.

When the late King of Rock 'n' Roll - Elvis Presley died his daughter and only child Lisa Marie Presley already famous due to her father's occupation as a Rock 'n' Roll singer/entertainer, and huge global popularity - she inherited his wealth, assets, and Graceland, but she became part of American showbusiness royalty and the only surviving link to the King himself.

When Elvis Presley died in 1977 Lisa Marie Presley was only nine-years old and so had a lot of memories of spending time with him, especially at Graceland and this loss had a huge effect on her for the rest of her life.

This burden of losing a parent is bad enough of a young child, but when he was so famous and still is in death the public's intrigue and curiosity meant that she was unwittingly and she revealed in some of her interviews became a reluctant famous person, and so embraced this fact and with the help of her mother Priscilla Presley forged a successful Elvis Presley business to not only honour him but to make the King still accessible whilst in death.

Elvis Presley was pretty much bankrupt when he died, due to his manager Colonel Parker - who it was later revealed that his real name was Andreas Cornelis van Kuijk and he was an illegal immigrant to the United States from the Netherlands since 1929 - because of financial mismanagement on all sides but in particular Elvis Presley's expensive lifestyle and his entourage, which later became known as The Memphis Mafia and hangings on.

So, Lisa Marie Presley becomes the owner of the Elvis Presley Estate and Graceland her childhood home but at nine-years old is too young to make any decisions or manage the business aspect to her late father's estate, and Elvis stipulated that she has access to the Trust Fund he set up before his death when his daughter reached twenty-five years old.

Her mother Priscilla Presley acted on her daughter's behalf to resurrect the Elvis brand and make business decisions that will help to pay for the upkeep of Graceland and retain ownership within the Presley family and protect Elvis Presley's intellectual rights to his image, music, films and any other media or product that uses Elvis to make money.

Over the years Elvis Presley has been one of the world's richest top deceased entertainers since his death in 1977, which is forty-eight years ago.

Lisa Marie Presley has spoken around the edges of growing up being the rebellious teenager and clashing with her mother, which by all accounts could have included how the Elvis estate was, has or is being run, placing a heavy burden on the both of them over the years.

When the rich and famous have children it is big shoes to fill when they die, but often the offspring live in the shadows of their famous parent(s), which can have a negative effect on their children and especially when growing up in the public eye, everything gets magnified, investigated, commentated, and this can have a negative psychological impact often leading to illegal drug, alcohol, and abusing pharmaceutical medication and this leads to mental health illness and an early grave.

With the death of her famous father and growing up in public Lisa Marie Presley had her fair share of personal trauma and problems as a result throughout her life.

The life of Lisa Marie Presley raised eyebrows over the years not just her mother's but the publics as well when she married another person who was known as a king, Michael Jackson known as The King of Rock and Pop in the spring of 1994.

This came at a time when for the first time Michael Jackson was being accused of inappropriate behaviour to children, which included accusations of sexual molestation.

Being at the pinnacle of the entertainment world Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Jackson had met while children themselves and by all accounts had remained loosely in touch but rekindled a relationship in the fall of 1992 in Los Angeles.

The subsequent years Lisa Marie Presley touched on her marriage to Michael Jackson with both nervous dread and embarrassment and even said it he was too strange remaining married to him, so she left and divorced him.

Though Lisa Marie Presley was shocked and spoke eloquently about her former husband Michael Jackson when he died in the summer of 2009, after being administered tranquilizers by his physician Doctor Conrad Murray - later convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the fall in 2011, of Michael Jacksons death - at his Holmby Hills, Los Angeles residency, and as a result suffered a cardiac arrest.

The other marriages Lisa Marie Presley was in was her first marrying in the autumn of 1988, at the age of just twenty to musician Danny Keough whom she had two children a daughter actress Riley and their son Benjamin Keough, and another surprise was Nicholas Cage, in the autumn of 2002, though this marriage only lasted for little over three months.

Her last marriage to musician Michael Lockwood lasted the longest of ten years but the divorce was finalised in 2021, but it resulted in a custody battle over their two daughters Harper, and Finley Lockwood.

Lisa Marie Presley forged her own way as a singer and performed across the world with her band and recorded and released three albums, To Whom It May Concern (2003), Now What (2005), Storm & Grace (2012), which all sold fairly well.

Throughout the rest of her life she was involved in the business decisions and running of her late father's estate, and on commemorative times in the Elvis Presley calendar came to events and spoke of her late father and her childhood with him as a family unit fondly.

Lisa Marie Presley started The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation (EPCF), to help people who are homeless live in their housing blocks rent-free, and help with education, training, and employment in the spirit of her late father.

Lisa Marie Presley had three daughters and a son who looked like his late grandfather.

Unfortunately, and tragically Lisa Marie Presley's son Benjamin Keough ended up committing suicide at the age of only twenty-seven, because of a gunshot wound to his head, in the summer of 2020.

Not only losing her famous father at an early age, she had to come to terms with the death of her only son at a tragically young age in her early fifties.

Lisa Marie Presley spoke about losing her son and saying that, "you never get over it" expressing, you just have to live with the reality of the situation and cope as best as you can.

Often when people experience traumatic episodes in their lives they can become and even say they are 'heartbroken' and later on down the line die of heart related problems, diseases or illnesses as a result.

It does seem the tragic death of her son and the release of the biopic about her late fathers and mothers' life Elvis, which she and her mother had direct involvement seemed to have opened-up old wounds and Lisa Marie Presley said, "After watching that movie [Elvis] I had to process it for five days".

This indicates that Lisa Marie Presley is a deep thinker and with that level of mental depth she could have questioned her own existence and mortality and this could have led to her deteriorating look at the Golden Globes Awards, which leading actor and playing her late father Austin Butler in Elvis, just could have meant she was done with this life and threw in the towel and died at the West Hills Hospital of cardiac arrest, which happened at her home in Calabasas, California and afterwards went to hospital in an ambulance, where she died the same day on the 12th January.

Life can be a cruel game of ifs, buts or maybes, but we just have to do what we have to do within the time we have on this planet, whether rich, poor or indifferent.
