The tragedy that happens in the beginning of M3GAN (Amie Donald) sets the path of the story to the creation of a revolutionary 'toy' in the shape of an advanced doll that interacts with children.
Gemma (Allison Williams) does not have family life including children but has a fulfilling job creating toys for children in the shape of fuzzy speaking characters that have some interesting verbal expressions and is rather entertaining for children who can get on the nerves of adults and parents.

However, we all get inspirations from other people or what we see in the environment and Gemma (Allison Williams) who is already developing this advanced doll, gets more of a push despite the usual setbacks when trying to construct something revolutionary when her niece Cady (Violet McGraw) she is looking after remarks, “If I had a toy like that I would not want anything else”, which sets the cause for the fun to begin or horror depending how you look at things.
The producers Jason Blum: Insidious, The Purge, Halloween, and James Wan: Saw, The Conjuring, Insidious, are seasoned in the suspense and horror genre of storytelling and M3GAN (voice by Jenna Davis) is full of these things with a twist of evil similar to another troublesome doll called Chucky!
M3GAN has a sinister looking face that you know is going to become trouble in the end and you get glimpses of these so-called protective qualities she was designed to inhibit to the connecting "child"as its primary purpose and mission.
Drawing on the new phenomenon of Artificial Intelligence (AI) developments and advancements M3GAN uses this as her program is constantly updating with new recent and current information all in the guise of being as protective, educational, and useful to the benefit of the child it is supposed to care for and look out for.
Now the cat-is-out-of-the-basket or amongst the pigeons, or better still playing with the mice, I bet someone will come up with a real life M3GAN and we'll see art fiction become reality and so parents will have to watch out that the doll does not start to takeover.

What adds to the suspense is the fact that the central characters and scenes are at a minimum and this gives the film the quality of space and air to let the drama and suspense creep in.
As a final note of the film when M3GAN says, “Run” in a soft tone she expects you to do just that and when she says “Sit” it is in a more aggressive way you do want she says, please don't argue.
